Growing up I always had a love for all animals which impacted my choice of a career as a CVT (Certified Veterinary Technician).  I worked in Wisconsin from 1985 until May 2006 for Lodi Veterinary Hospital when I moved to Michigan.  I have always had a fascination with animal behavior, both domesticated and wildlife.

I have been training dogs since 1979 starting out with the 4-H clubs in Dog Obedience and showing dogs. I have taught basic and novice dog obedience classes, trained bird hunting dogs, Search and Service Dogs, Agility and Flyball.  I spent 2 years working with the Wisconsin Canine Search and Rescue Organization training young dogs for searching for both live victims and remains.  I am currently a member of the K-9One Search and Rescue Team of Michigan where I have a puppy in training for wilderness air scent search services.

I am currently studying canine behavior of both domestic and the wild canine packs.  This is the foundation of understanding the canine mind; thus, being able to modify canine behavior in our households.

My core principle is to teach good behavior using positive reinforcement.  I introduce the desire behavior in a positive fashion, and the instant the behavior occurs, the action is reinforced with positive feedback to the dog.  An essential component is training the dog owner to train their canine friend in this manner.  Success occurs with consistency among all of the family in training our canine family members.
