DOG AGILITY CLASSES

It seems that much of the world is now acquainted with dog agility - the rapidly growing sport in which handlers direct their dogs through challenging obstacle courses while striving for speed and accuracy.  Agility is truly an international dog sport that has captured the interest of dog lovers worldwide.  Spectators admire agility for its fast pace, the visually spectacular and challenging obstacles, and the contagious enthusiasm displayed by the dogs and handlers.  Handlers love agility because it strengthens the bond between themselves and their dogs, while providing a thrilling, fast-paced competition on unique challenging courses.

Although agility is a fun and exciting sport of competition, it is also a great means of exercise that utilizes the dog’s mind and athleticism.   Any dog owner can set up or take agility classes for fun to achieve the ultimate in teamwork with their canine companion.

Agility does not have to be for adult dogs either, it is a great means of training and developing trust with your puppy as well.  In my puppy class we ask our puppies to perform some of these agility tasks which the puppies and owners find fun and again develops trust between owner and puppy.  Developing this trust early on helps in the continued training for years to come.
