WAGG'N TAIL DOG TRAINING Services Include:
Family Dog Training:
My core principle is to teach good dog behavior using positive reinforcement. Each desired behavior is introduced in a positive fashion, and the instant the behavior occurs, the action is reinforced with positive feedback to your dog.I offer a six-week basic Family Dog Training class for dogs six months and older. This class is designed to teach owners how dogs think, learn and communicate, with the goal of producing polite, well-mannered dogs. Owners will be taught the skills to train their dogs to sit, lie down, stay, heel, stand for exam and be still in a down position for exam, watch, recall and possibly perform tricks.

Private lessons are the ideal place to get help with behavioral issues such as house-soiling, chewing and destructive behavior, barking, fears, shyness, aggression, resource guarding or that one “problem command” that has not yet been mastered.

Dog Agility Classes
Although agility is a fun and exciting sport of competition, it is also a great means of exercise that utilizes the dog’s mind and athleticism. Any dog owner can set up or take agility classes for fun to achieve the ultimate in teamwork with their canine companion.Agility does not have to be for adult dogs either, it is a great means of training and developing trust with your puppy as well. In my puppy class we ask our puppies to perform some of these agility tasks which the puppies and owners find fun and again develops trust between owner and puppy. Developing this trust early on helps in the continued training for years to come. Basic Agility and Flyball Classes forming next Spring 2008. Click here for more information.

Having a well-mannered dog that can be taken into the community and be a good canine citizen is the goal of all pet owners, including myself. I believe the same training philosophies I teach can be applied to ALL types and ages of dogs. Positive motivation stimulates the dogs mentally. All dogs are capable of learning. The dog and owner will enjoy the process of understanding the fundamentals of training and communicating with each other.
The time spent together becomes a reward in itself to both the owner and the dog. The result is a dog that becomes an integral family member.
