ZAK

test1

How’s it goin’ everybody?  I’m Zachery Taylor, but you can call me Zak, the Man!  I’m the white American Eskimo in the picture, a young and energetic 13-year old boy.  Let me tell you about my life in a very short period of time.  I grew up the only dog in the family and learned by my human owner to be a baby.  I never was able to be a dog, learn how to relate to others of my kind and to learn respect from those and my two-legged friends.  I really wanted that, and after 13 years, my human friend gave me up because she could no longer handle my behavior.  Sadly enough but with great appreciation, I ended up in the Elk Country Animal Shelter and in the hands of Chris Moe and Wagg'n Tails Dog Training.

This was an awakening experience.  The outcome; I cannot tell you enough on how great it is to be a dog and to be treated as such.  I learned how to respect humans (my two-legged friends) and other dogs.

With the help of Chris, I can happily report that I’m now in foster care with Kerri and Chris, and they have continued my training of being a dog and respecting the leaders.  I’m so happy learning to “sit”, “stay” and my favorite “sit pretty” along with “down” and “kennel”.

I would just like to say, "Thank You, Chris for giving me the opportunity to be a dog and to be respected as one."  And a double paw thanks to my foster family--Kerri and Chris--who continue the process and hopefully some day before I’m gone, I will have a final home to call my own.  Last thought-- even though I’m 13 years old, “old dogs do learn new tricks,” and one is never too old to learn.
